Our DAILY areas of emphasis are:
Practical means useful and purposeful & Life means the way of living.
Exercises of practical life – they are exercises so that the child can learn to do life activities in a purposeful way. The aim is to help the child gain control in the co-ordination of his movement and help the child to gain independence and adapt to his society.
Sensorial comes from the words sense or senses. As there are no new experiences for the child to take from the sensorial work, the child is able to concentrate on the refinement of all his senses, from visual to streognostic. The sensorial materials are designed in refining the senses to gain confidence and self assurance. The sensorial lessons are applied to hands on learning of mathematical and language concepts.
Mathematics is around the young child from day one.

Arithmetic deals with shape, space, number and their relationship and attributes by use of numbers and symbols.
Dr. Maria Montessori said that a Mathematical mind is “a sort of mind which is built up with exactness”. The mathematical mind tends to estimate, needs to quantify, to see identity, similarity, difference and patterns, to make order and sequence.
Language is a system of symbols with an agreed upon meaning that is used by a group of people. Language is a means of communication ideas or feelings by the use of conventionalised sounds and signs, thus, being the spoken and written language. To help the child’s development in language, our curriculum is designed in the way in which the child is helped in learning at his/her own rhythm.
Music & Art
Music and Art are interwoven throughout the Montessori curriculum. It is through these activities the children develop an appreciation for all life and relate things on earth.
Simple experiments are presented with no much explanation given, children are allowed to observe, reflect and arrive at their own conclusions.
In our RAYS Montessori’s unique curriculum, the child gets an introduction to History, Geography and Science. Gardening and games are also organized as group activities. Gardening expose children to enjoy and appreciate the world around them. Organised game helps the child to play in a group and follow simple instruction given.
